Louise Thorndycraft

Using a flexible, compassionate approach to teaching, Lou's aim is to help you discover a greater sense of equilibrium and improved health and wellbeing. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice, which balances and rejuvenates the subtle energies, enabling profound healing benefits for the mind, body and soul.
A typical yoga class includes: time to become centred, using the breath and gentle stretches to release tension; a series of yoga postures designed to build strength, balance and flexibility in the body and mind; pranayama or yogic breathing techniques to help cleanse and balance the subtle energies; deep relaxation to take you back to the core of who you are, bringing a sense of inner peace.
Lou has been practicing yoga since 2002 and began teaching in February 2007. Registered with the British Wheel of Yoga, the Sport England recognised National Governing Body for Yoga, Lou has explored various styles of yoga, including Hatha, Satyananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Sivananda and Yin.
Lou's passion for the philosophical teachings of yoga has led her to develop a deep interest in meditation, leading to an exploration of the many parallels between Buddhist and yogic philosophy. She has recently attended teachings by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Hanh and has undertaken a number of silent retreats, using Buddhist meditation techniques including Vipassana and mindfulness. For Lou's classses in Liverpool check out www.blueskyoga.co.uk
