Vinyasa Yoga - A Yoga Flow Class Linking Traditional Vinyasa Yoga with Breath

Vinyasa yoga is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. The word Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement." In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is sometimes called vinyasa yoga flow, or just yoga flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. Vinyasa yoga's strength is in its diversity. There is no single philosophy, rulebook, or sequence that teachers must follow, so there is a lot of room for individual personalities and quirks to come through.

"I have been going to Nisha's classes for three years. I am a 53 year old male looking for an appropriate level of activity within a comfortable atmosphere and have found this with North West Pilates. I find the class challenging and stimulating; my flexibility has improved and the twinges and strains from looking after horses each morning are easily absorbed. I would recommend this form of activity to anyone of any age." - Client Phil Dearden

For a bit of change, many of our clients join us on our regular French retreats to participate in yoga sessions in completely different environments - find out more here.
